Sydney re-visited!

A taxi came to collect us at the rude time of 4.45am, on Friday, so that we could catch our early train to Sydney. We left Chris at the teacher conference which started at 9am, and joined the teacher's families guided tour. It was a great chance to get to chat to other people about their exchanges; most of them seemed to be from Canada and were having problems with one thing or another; I didn't envy the poor chap who had to mow 10 acres with a push mower!!
It was strange how people from the same nationality tended to group together more.
And ....something else which shows what a small World it is; during the conference Chris sat through a variety of speeches. The most senior speaker was the deputy director of NSW schools. who spoke of his own exchange experience 18years ago in Bromley Kent. This it transpired was at the first school Chris taught at and although Chris arrived as this guy left they had met briefly and it was the returning English exchange teacher who filled Chris' head with the notion that one day an exchange would be something he might like to do.

Yes...I know it's another one of the Sydney Opera House....I can't help it...I just have to keep taking photos incase I haven't taken it from that angle! I liked the additional boats in this shot.

And here is the bustling Circular Quay where anything that floats comes from and goes to!
After doing lots of walking, we enjoyed a well earned hot chocolate and ice-cream overlooking the quay.

They did so well to get up so early, manage lots of walking, including 200 steps up to the top of the Pylon Lookout Tower....great views again of my mates, Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge; for mine or Chris's birthday we've got to do the walk up the actual bridge...it looks awsome!!

You can just make out the steps that you go up to do the special walk and there is also a group on the left; you walk right up to where the flags are at the top; Michelle and David did this climb and we admire the photographic evidence, in the study, every day!
